Registration

  • This is to indicate your rower wants to, and is ableto attend this regatta. Since this race requires more travel than usual, we need to get a fairly accurate head count as soon as possible. For new rowers (started this season), the coaches will make the final determination if you are ready or not to row this event.

The GATOR HEAD Regatta is tomorrow!!!!  This email contains last-minute updates and final updates.  Please read it to the end.

WEATHER:  It is expected to be in the low 50's tomorrow morning.  Please check the weather for Gainesville, FL to prepare fortomorrow.  Rowers with early races should have a long sleeves under their racing top (tech blend, not cotton).  We also recommend warm clothes that will STAY ON LAND and will be dry & warm for rowers after their early morning race.

WAIVERS: This regatta is recognizing the NOARA online waiver.  We still need a waiver for the below rowers.

HOSPITALITY will have breakfast, lunch, snacks and water for our rowers.  The GAR Cafe will be open beginning at 7 a.m.  We encourage parents to support the host team by stopping by for breakfast or lunch.

MIDDLE SCHOOL - Please register for this regatta if you are cleared to race and plan to attend. If you are a 1st year rower and are unsure of your race status, please check with your coach. All returning rowers are cleared.

This is not a scheduled overnight regatta. Practice this week will be the normal schedule (Mon/Tues/Wed/Fri).  Trailer loading will happen during practice on Friday (3:30-6 p.m.)

Parents who wish to leave directly from practice on Friday to drive to Gainesville, please plan on a 6:30 departure (we will try for 6, but trailer loading often runs late).

REPORT TIMES:

  • COXSWAINS, Sculling Bow's and 1X SCULLERS:  7:15 A.M. (subject to change based on final schedule)
  • HIGH SCHOOL ROWERS: 8:00 A.M. (subject to change based on final schedule)
  • MIDDLE SCHOOL ROWERS: 11:15 A.M. UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTIFIED

EXPECTED RELEASE TIMES:

  • MIDDLE SCHOOL: 2:00 P.M.
  • HIGH SCHOOL: 5:00 P.M. (subject to change based on final schedule)
  • High School Rowers must stay at the regatta for the duration of the event.

This is an OUT OF TOWN regatta.  Rowers are NOT allowed to drive to or from the regatta.

HOSPITALITY:

Breakfast Muffins/bagels, Water, Lunch and Snacks are being provided for our rowers.  Additional concessions should be available on site.

Our hospitality committee is still in need of:

  • 20 gallons of water (in 1-gallon water jugs, NOT individual water bottles)
  • 2 more volunteers to bake breakfast muffins

Water should be sent with your rower to practice this week.  If we receive more than the needed water supply, we can use it next week at Gatorhead.

    PARKING:  There is parking for Team Trailers, food trailers, and coaches.  There is an unloading area for buses and for cars.  All vehicles are then asked to proceed to our athlete and spectator parking, approximately 3/4 mile away.  Parking is free. THERE WILL BE SHUTTLES RUNNING ALL DAY for a one-time donation of $5.


WAIVER:

All rowers need to have an online NOARA waiver on file

All High School rowers are waiver compliant!  Middle School rowrs still needing their waiver will be contacted soon.
